3 - HOW TO GET THERE

The flight from London should take around 11hours without connection (15hrs to 18hrs with connection) to reach Sao Paulo's international airport (GUARULHOS) and cost around £600.
For more informations regarding airlines companies, go to 11- USEFUL INFORMATION.

The transfer from Sao paulo to Sao Sebastiao city is approximately 3 hours by car (car rental from the airport). However , we just went to Brazil and I would advise everyone not to drive straight after the flight since the traffic in sao paulo is "crazy".
there is a possibility to rent coaches for 600reals (around 200pounds) that can transport 12 to 15 people. If you organise yourselves into groups we could ensure that the coaches are full and that it is therefore cheaper.....

you can rent a car from Sao sebastiao (city opposite to ilhabela on the continental side) or directly from the airport.

The only way to access the island by car is via the ferry boats that cross the channel. The boats can carry up to 70 vehicles and take 15 minutes to sail accross. It works 24hours/day, from 6am to 11pm every 30 min and from 11pm to 6am every hour and costs 20 reals with a car (free for pedestrians).
